I completely agree. A lot of these arguments are just about insulting others and proving who’s better. But I also don’t understand why some Africans and Caribbeans keep engaging. Not everyone, of course, on either side. These FBA panelists thrive off diaspora wars instead of actually building or helping their communities. Why keep giving them attention? Let them identify however they want, even if we think it’s an identity crisis. Whether they claim African identity or not doesn’t benefit or hurt us. We should’ve simply said, “Cool, you’re your own group, we’re our own group,” and moved on. Nobody gains anything from these pointless arguments.
