I’m not entirely blaming your meds but the habits, stress, and go-go-go they can bring? That adds up. Blood sugar swings, high cortisol, lack of sleep, and being under-nourished all play a huge part in your hormones, including your thyroid. Here’s how it connects: 🔥 Cortisol: Chronic stress can suppress progesterone and slow down thyroid function, which affects your energy, metabolism, and cycle. 📈 Blood sugar: Taking Adderall on an empty stomach and skipping meals can send your blood sugar on a rollercoaster, and that’s another stress signal to your body. Blood sugar and insulin are more tied to your reproductive hormones than you’d think. They affect your cycle and your testosterone, and they can play a role in stubborn weight gain too. 🥑 Nutrients: Your body needs nutrients like B vitamins, magnesium, and zinc to make and balance hormones. Under-eating means you’re getting less of them, and chronic stress burns through them even faster. 😴 Sleep: Your body does a lot of hormone work overnight. Cut it short and everything runs on less. At the end of the day, your body isn’t going to prioritize reproduction, your sex drive, or a smooth cycle if it thinks it’s being chased by a tiger every single day 🐅 It’s just trying to survive. The stress-hormone connection is real. And don’t even get me started on stress and gut health… a topic for another time 👀 Not medical advice. Talk to your provider before changing anything with your meds. #adhd #adhdwomen #hormonehealth #cortisol #progesterone
