Milwaukee winning as a small market team was an anamoly. if you look at the past 20 to 25 years and look at the chances of lower spending you'll see how rare it actually is.

I hope they lockout. The game has been ruined through their stupid rule changes, Dodgers-Yankees throwing the playoffs to make it look like a small market teams have a chance. Then there are teams like the Pirates that don’t try and just funnel their best players to the Yankees or Dodgers. Bassball has made themselves into a joke. The other pro leagues have figured it out

There will be a lock out. There will be baseball next year. There will not be a salary cap. Baseball as a whole is in a great place and everyone is making a lot of money. The greedy owner will cave in at the end. Three if the last four teams this year were small market teams. Salary is not everything to win. If you think it is you know nothing about baseball.
