You go to church every week, but do you truly know God? This is a question many Christians are afraid to face. Because some people go to church every week. They are familiar with worship. They are familiar with prayer. They are familiar with sermons. They are familiar with the Bible. They are familiar with how to act like a Christian. But here is the question: Does that mean a person truly knows God? The “following God” we talk about today—will it really be approved by God? Can you be one hundred percent sure that you will enter the kingdom of God? Or deep in your heart, are you actually not so sure? The Lord Jesus said: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21, KJV This verse is very serious. Because Jesus did not say that everyone who attends church will enter. He did not say that everyone who confesses Him with their mouth will enter. He said that only those who do the will of the Father will enter. So the real question is: Do you truly know God? When you hear God’s Word, are you willing to obey it? Do you live out His teachings in your daily life? If a person worships God in church on Sunday, but from Monday to Saturday is still controlled by sin, pulled by the world, bound by pride, lies, jealousy, lust, and selfishness, and is unwilling to repent, then that person needs to seriously ask: Am I truly following God, or am I only maintaining the appearance of a Christian? Truly knowing God is not just knowing many Bible verses. Truly knowing God means being willing to let His Word change your heart, change your life, and change your choices. A person who truly knows God will not only look devout in church. Even when no one is watching, they are still willing to fear God. They will not only love hearing words of blessing. They are also willing to accept God’s correction and discipline. They will not only say they believe. They are willing to leave sin and do the will of God. So today, do not only ask yourself: Did I go to church this week? Ask yourself: Do I truly know God? Has my life been changed by God’s Word? If the Lord examined my heart today, would He approve of me? Dear brothers and sisters, God is not looking for people who only have religious habits. He is looking for people who truly follow Him. Then do you know how a person can truly know God?
