My mom doesn’t care. She gets bored and tries to get off the phone. If I start telling her something, she wants off the phone. She will only talk to me for 1-2 mins at a time. She said if she’s not interested she doesn’t care.

my parents only "interest" in my hobbies was to use them as pawns to threaten to take away from me to get me to obey (it never worked, I got videogames taken away for 3 months once bc I cut my hair after they told me not to and I have zero regrets)

while studying anatomy for drawing id be drawing every breed of dog, horse, cat, etc. and my mom would just say its all exactly the same because it was all a side profile. mind you they'd be very obviously different breeds. like think pug vs shepherd different. constantly putting me down but now i can draw any species/breed of animal in under a minute (i trained myself doing 30-60 second pen sketches once i got anatomy down) and its STILL talked down about. some parents just be jealous.

varsity football, basketball, and golf, 1 act play competitions, two speech and debate teams, and I played volleyball at a high enough level that eventually I was part of a coaching team for an NCAA women's team. they never came to one damn thing

They didn’t even attend my sports games as a kid. Pretty much did sports all year round from 5th grade to sophomore year and I can only recall 2 times my mom came.

I asked my 23 year old son to move back home because my health is really bad and getting worse. He comes out to the living room and talks to me about car stereos, car parts, work etc. My 26 y/o daughter talks about her boyfriend, her crafts, the cats etc. I have 2 other kids in K.C. that I text with all the time to see what they're up to. I get no new adventures, so I'm really invested in theirs.
