Rance Allen is actually singing a Gospel song. The Truth is Jesus Christ! This is an excerpt from the most amazing concert documentary film called Wattstax (1973) of the 1972 Wattstax concert at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Wattstax was a benefit concert organized by Stax Records to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the 1965 uprising in the African-American community of Watts. All the Stax Records artists performed including Isaac Hayes, The Bar-Kays, Rufas Thomas (everyone ran on the football field and did the Funky Chicken) and his daughter Carla Thomas, The Staple Singers, and more but my favorite performance was The Emotions singing at a local church in Watts their soul-stirring Gospel song "Peace Be Still". Special guests/speakers were Richard Pryor, Rev. Jesse Jackson and others. The Wattstax soundtrack is amazing, but the documentary film is even more amazing and available at Amazon in DVD or streaming.🙏🏾
