Four interviews just to fail the "vibe check?" That's so messed up.

if My company had a position open for 4 months and we hadn't given anyone a chance to do the job I'd be seeking new management.

They should know after TWO interviews.

They should have had that gut feeling by end of 2nd round.

Fit comes at the second interview, not knowing by the fourth is a waste of everyone's time.

My first interview is a "get to know you" and basic knowledge test. Second interview is the actual skill test. You pass both then I hire you. For my Jr or entry then it's just the first interview. Who has time for 4+ interviews? TF is wrong with their management?

“What do you mean culture fit” I hope you did something. This stuff can’t go unchecked.

Having been in 2 bad cultures, it can be a legit objection.

The culture fit is given more weight than skills where I work. We can teach anyone to do the work. Good candidates are passed over if there’s a chance they will upset the apple cart.

I can absolutely define culture fit for my employer (think on their feet, can handle the fast pace, understands our industry, positive demeanor, understands dressing for their day) but I agree w/ the comments here that if they can’t say it out loud, it’s something discriminatory.
