Adopt/rescue - NODAS MED - Needs Placement by 11/1 11am Asher A1302525 3 years old Intact Male 81 pounds Heartworm Negative Stray found on ASHVIEW CIR, DALLAS TX 75217 Available on 10/31 Adopets Link: https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/98d27c6e-b9eb-4398-bffd-e0877c58deff Asher is a male dog who presented with a bulging right eye (OD), a mature cataract, and suspected glaucoma. These conditions may cause significant discomfort and threaten his ocular health. Further diagnostic evaluation is needed to assess the severity of his condition and determine the most appropriate course of treatment. Enucleation (surgical removal of the eye) is likely to be necessary to relieve potential pain and improve his quality of life. This level of specialized veterinary care, diagnostic testing, and postoperative recovery support exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite his condition, Asher deserves the opportunity to receive appropriate treatment and relief from any discomfort. He needs a safe, compassionate placement where he can receive prompt veterinary evaluation, additional diagnostics, and likely surgical enucleation, along with appropriate postoperative recovery care to support his comfort and long-term well-being. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing Asher, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov. When emailing, please leave a callback number. Medical 10/28: OD- bulging globe, mature cataract seen at kennelside.
