One night Benny was totally fine, and the next morning he woke up unable to put any weight on his foot. Cue the full on dog mom panic. I iced it, kept him resting, and hoped for the best… but by day two he still couldn’t walk, so off to the vet we went. The vet said his paw was extremely swollen and needed to sedate him to do x-rays and bloodwork. She even gave me the heads up about the prevalence of osteosarcoma in young Bernese… They kept him all day, and I picked up one very loopy Bernese at the end of it. The results came back clear, no broken bones and bloodwork perfect. Just a badly swollen paw. $1000 later and still no clear answer, but at least we knew it wasn’t anything more serious. The crazy part was that he went to bed that night and woke up the next morning already so much better. Within just a few days, he was completely back to normal, like nothing had ever happened. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. These dogs keep us on our toes, keep our hearts racing, and sometimes keep our wallets empty. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world. 🤍🐾 From panic to relief in just a few days 🥲🐾 Have you ever experienced something similar with your dog?
