A lot of people are upset they changed his disability background and made it to where his looks come from experiments. Tons of people saw Jason as someone who represented kids with disability’s being bullied.

I just dont see a reason to remove the fact that jason was disabled both physically and mentally yet managed to be extremely capable of surviving on his own. Them taking that aspect of his character away and making his strength moreso a product of experimentation rather than the result of years of living and surviving in the woods feels like they just dont want a character to have a disability. Its one of the main reasons he was bullied but it still wasnt why he was evil, he was just different and that got him almost killed, i feel like that gives jason a far better message and depth rather than him just being “experimented on”.

I think changing his background to be a lab experiment ruins what Jason was. Jason was just an innocent kid who was born deformed and thrown into the lake to drown and is the embodiment of revenge and hatred. He was a victim of ableism and after seeing his mother beheaded became the unstoppable vengeful deadman

It’s not that it’s too much for me to believe it’s just a lame version to me like that’s some stranger things stuff to me 😂. And I love Jason but for some reason him being an experiment was just too much. And yes I rather him be a deadite or some version of paranormal entity

I'm fine with the science lab background if, IF they don't close the door to supernatural possibilities. Jason goes to Hell canonally links the Voorhees bloodline to the Necronomocon. Freddy vs Jason canonally has Jason in hell and he can come back from literal hell. Jason has a canon history of being supernatural but adding science is fine

its not a problem how they did it but they sold it as a prequel, they should of sold it as its own story, they changed Jason's death date from the late 50s in the movies to the 60s in this series.. so it doesn't belong as a beginning to the movies.. the rest was easy to take in.. so yes as its own thing I hope it continues..

I think the issue is, that in 2026 trying to nuance everything is becoming redundant and the whole science experiment concept has been badly overused. Me as a fan, what I would’ve liked was a more grounded campy series similar to the 09 remake. Just a predator vs prey (camp counselors). Origin stories are overrated………..
