I felt this! My son has level 1 autism and he doesn’t want to dress up or go trick or treating and the amount of people that are like WHAT KIND OF KID IS HE? WHO doesn’t want to go trick or treating? It does make me miss him dressing up but all i can do is continue to meet him where he is and make sure he’s comfortable.

Three years I spend money on different killer clowns from outer space costumes until my autistic son found the correct costume. We bought the novelty items that go along with the costumes also. This year he was so excited to show it off. Then on Halloween we went to the aquarium for the underwater pumpkin carving with the sharks and a walk in the BioPark garden. Got in the suv to head back home. He tells me he just wants to get McDonalds and go home and play video games for the rest of the night. 😂 it’s like Christmas. We will pack up his costumes and his novelty items until next time he feels like wearing them around the house.
