FAIRFIELD, Calif. — One person/victim identified as Constance
FAIRFIELD, Calif. — One person/victim identified as Constance "Connie" Hages was killed and six others were injured in a shooting Friday night inside a Spirit Halloween store at Solano Town Center in Fairfield, California, authorities said. At least three of the injured victims were reported to be in critical condition. The shooting was reported at approximately 8:30 p.m. on October 30, 2026, as customers were shopping for Halloween costumes. Fairfield police responded and found seven people suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the six injured victims were transported to area hospitals. According to preliminary information from investigators, the shooting is believed to have stemmed from a targeted incident involving one suspect inside the store. Police have not publicly identified the suspect, and no arrests had been announced as of Saturday morning. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence as they work to identify the person responsible. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances of the shooting. Witnesses described people screaming and running from the store as gunfire erupted. Daniela Seabra Rios told the Los Angeles Times that she and her son were in a vehicle across from the store when crowds began fleeing. They ducked down inside their vehicle until police arrived. David Bernal told reporters that his wife was shopping near the store’s wig section when she heard about five gunshots. She escaped through an emergency exit and later returned home, shaken but safe. The shooting prompted a large emergency response involving Fairfield police, California Highway Patrol, Suisun City police, firefighters and emergency medical personnel. Officers searched the mall while investigators interviewed witnesses and collected evidence. Fairfield Police Chief Dan Marshall said during a late-night press conference that investigators were working to establish what happened and hoped mall surveillance cameras would provide useful evidence. Anyone with information, photographs or video related to the shooting is asked to contact the Fairfield Police Department at 707-428-7600. #RIP
