What a chaotic and frustrating day for Ferrari at the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix. A race that could have ended with a Ferrari victory turned into another painful missed opportunity, leaving Lewis Hamilton second and Charles Leclerc fourth. Lewis Hamilton started from pole position and made a brilliant start, managing to hold the lead into the opening corners. But things quickly became complicated when his own teammate, Charles Leclerc, went wheel-to-wheel with him into Turn 4. Both drivers ran wide, but Charles continued across the grass and came out ahead, gaining the lead without giving the position back. That moment changed the entire picture of the race. Max Verstappen immediately took advantage of the situation and moved ahead of Lewis, dropping the Ferrari driver to third. The stewards later gave Charles a five-second time penalty for gaining an advantage by leaving the track. And honestly, this is where things get frustrating. Ferrari had the pace to fight for the victory, but an incident between its own drivers made the job much harder than it needed to be. I want to make something clear: I don't hate Charles Leclerc. He's an incredibly talented driver, and I have a lot of respect for him. He's not someone I want to see fail, and I don't think one mistake should define his entire career. But being a teammate also means understanding when a battle needs to be handled differently. Lewis was fighting for the lead, and losing that position to his own teammate was a painful moment, especially when a potential victory was on the line. And the drama didn't end there. Later in the race, a frightening accident involving Valtteri Bottas brought out the Safety Car before the race was stopped with a red flag. Ferrari decided to bring Lewis into the pits for fresh tyres just moments before the red flag was shown. That decision was particularly frustrating because the stoppage allowed the other drivers to change their tyres as well, taking away much of the advantage Lewis could have gained from his pit stop. And then came the radio message that said it all: We've got big problems. Big, big problems. Lewis was clearly frustrated, and considering everything that had happened throughout the race, it's understandable. After the restart, Lewis managed to get past Charles and moved into second place. He then spent the remaining laps chasing Max Verstappen, putting enormous pressure on the Red Bull driver. Unfortunately, he crossed the finish line just 0.799 seconds behind Max. 🏁 FINAL RESULTS: P1 Max Verstappen P2 Lewis Hamilton P3 Kimi Antonelli P4 Charles Leclerc And there's another positive worth mentioning: Lewis also recorded the fastest lap of the race. Despite all the difficulties, he showed that Ferrari had the pace to compete for the win. I don't want this video to become an attack on Charles. I respect him, I appreciate what he brings to Ferrari, and I want both drivers to succeed. But it's also fair to discuss what happened and acknowledge that the opening-lap incident had serious consequences for Lewis and the team's chances of winning. Ferrari needs to learn from days like this. Having two incredibly talented drivers is an advantage, not a reason to throw away opportunities. The most frustrating part isn't that Ferrari finished second and fourth. It's knowing that a victory was genuinely within reach. Lewis deserved a better result after that performance. And once again, we are left asking the same question: How many opportunities can Ferrari afford to lose? Forza Ferrari. ❤️ Still we believe. Still we race. And we keep fighting for that 8th World Championship. 🏆 #f1 #hamilton #leclerc #scuderiaferrari #ferrarif1
