@akhi.muhammad11: All complaints made to [email protected] Another deeply concerning incident involved an elderly woman who waited in a wheelchair for approximately 12 hours. During that time, I did not see a nurse check on her or ask whether she needed assistance. What I witnessed raised serious concerns about her comfort, dignity and wellbeing. While emergency departments must prioritise urgent cases, vulnerable elderly patients still deserve regular welfare checks, basic care and clear communication. Premier Chris Minns should take accountability for the conditions in our public hospitals and take meaningful action alongside Health Minister Ryan Park. Families deserve more than promises—they deserve adequate staffing, humane waiting conditions and clear responsibility when standards fall short. This incident should be investigated, with a written explanation of what happened and what will be done to prevent it happening again. #heatlhcheck #chrisminns #westmeadhospital

My mom sat in an emergency room in agony crying in pain at a Kaiser hospital. They kept saying they had the longest amount of wait that night. Almost everyone in there was young with the sniffles. My mom had a pain in her stomach that was gut wrenching to witness. I finally said if you don’t take her back I’m taking her to another hospital. Long story short they appeased me and said they’d take her vitals. They weren’t good and soon she sat in an emergency bed begging for help with her pain. Sadly she had an ischemic bowel infarction which was a blood clot killing her intestines with lack of oxygen. She died 13 hours later. Her life may not have been saved but the lack of compassion and urgency was something I’ll never forget.

Why didn’t you go do something, instead of recording her get up and ask her if she needs anything

Yet you pulled out your phone to put her on the internet, and it did so much for her.

I worked in the ER and yes they are extremely busy and usually short staffed however we still sent a nurse out periodically to check back on patients because health status can change just sitting out their waiting I'm so sorry to hear and see this God bless her. 🙏💞

Unfortunately hospitals all over Australia are extremely short staffed, not many people want to work in the medical field because of how expensive it can be for studies etc, but also how demanding the work load/time is.

I took my husband in for head wound, there was a girl around 20 in a wheelchair struggling to breathe. Her Dad was trying to talk to them but they kept dismissing him and not even listening. After about 30 mins, I went up and spoke to them. Was very very firm and it was so hard not to yell. They took her in to be seen straight away. Was so distressing for us, cant imagine what it was like for thr girl and her father.

It's really sad to see. But why didn't you ask her if she needed something or comfort her. You just sat there and recorded her

Yep. My son sat in emergency for six hours until his appendix burst and I took him to another hospital. I had repeatedly begged for him to be seen as he worsened as we had a fair idea what it was. At 20 years old he lost half his bowel.

Guys good news , I’ve just started a petition, all I’m waiting is for an MP to present my petition to NSW parliament then I’ll make a video with the link. If we get 20,000 signatures then it will qualify a debate in parliament!
