you have to address the totality.... moicano wasnt trying any subs in that series.... in the decades I've been watching the ufc, I've seen fights stood up when a fighter was ON TOP, landing blows, but only the pitter patter body shot dye to being held tight. lack of advancement gets you stood up. Nolan had fought off all previous sub attempts, was landing more blows from his position. mu h ado about nothing

this is the best possible position. there is no better position to advance to. it shouldn't have been stood up. if moicano was on full mount and choosing not to posture up and do damage thats a different story, but from that position on the back he should have been immune from a stand up.
