I think because of the fact that a lot of parents don’t like going house to house anymore and or they think it’s unsafe. Each year it becomes less and less. It’s sad. I feel bad for the people who bought candy and didn’t get any trick or treaters.

You obviously aren’t going to the right place we took our kids in our neighborhood and they could fill a pillowcase in 2 hours and trunk or treats are not trick or treating it ruined a tradition

Trick-or-treating has been ruined by trunk or treating. There aren’t enough kids going door-to-door anymore because they already got candy that no one buys candy for door-to-door..

I think everyone started migrating to specific neighborhoods. Those neighborhoods go all out and every house participates. Other neighborhoods only certain houses participate and it’s few and far between. You either get a few trick or treaters or thousands

It depends on the neighborhood. We went this year with my three year old door to door and got WAY more candy than at any trunk or treat. Also trunk or treats are SO congested now you are basically standing in line waiting for candy. Its not fun.

We had over 300 trick or treaters last night, it is the same most every year. Each one got a choice of candy bar and a small bag of cheese balls. Maybe it’s just the neighborhood you’re in? Also, the majority of the neighborhood sits outside in the driveway to hand out candy so we can enjoy watching them all.

I stopped taking my kids years ago for this reason exactly. nobody gives out candy anymore. last time I took them, we walked for miles in the cold rain..and they got less than that 4 or 5 hour bag you got. They were disappointed and I was disappointed for them. So, every year since then, I put on Halloween parties for the kids. They get way more candy, they have way more fun, and it lasts for hours.

as a teenager me and my friends with trick or treating and half of are candy we had to throw away bc there was no air in pavkageing looks tampered with or even just had metal in it. but i only had three small zip lock bags half full of candy and i say three bc i gave my mom some and my dad some and they werent full and my bag was almost full but still there barely any people that were doing it and most people do it around 6-8pm and we got there at 8 but yeah stil there was barsly any trick or treaters there was barely anybody giving out candy and the only reason we got as much candy as we did is bc we went back to the same houses bc of the fact there litterly was nobody else soo and i gave a little boy some of my candy and filled a bowl of candy up just a little but halloween is not what it used to be at all since i was a kid inflation and covid and all these wicked people in the world just ruined it in my opionion and im only 15

I handed out probably half those bags per kid when I was passing out candy last night, I only got maybe ten kids. I still have a full grocery bag full of candy left over.

Trunk or Treat is lazy. Too many parents are phoning it in and doing the quick 15 minute walk in a circle for an instant grab. It's not creative. It's not earned. Why even bother with a costume if all you want is candy? Just go to the store and buy a bag. Halloween is about community in your neighborhood. Meeting your neighbors. Having fun with decorating. Putting in time and effort to give the kids something magical. It's not about buying cheap paper cutouts and displaying them in your car with a bucket of candy ready for the grab.

Yeah trunk or treat looks like crap candy . My kids got at least 9 fill size candy bars . I go same neighborhood every years it’s next to my old neighborhood I used to hear them say not very much this year and the old people enjoy us. So we go an hour out of the way to make those old peoples night 🥰🥰🥰 I love it
