As awful as it sounds please don’t continue with him. I had a horse flip on me and snap my arm in half, that was 5 years ago and I still struggle with confidence when riding. Horses that flip have no self preservation and will continue to do it. Unfortunately some horses just aren’t worth it

So glad you have decided to step back from him. My roomate at the time had a horse flip completely back on her and SHATTERED her pelvis. Seeing her go through that was so horrible.

I had a horse flip last fall. I'm still recovering physically and emotionally from it. I've had a horse do everything under the sun to me, and nothing has impacted me the way this has. I wasn't even injured "that badly" but it shattered my trust in the horses I work with and my capabilities as a trainer/rider. I'm so glad to see that you're not injured too terribly, and I really hope you're able to regain any lost confidence as quickly as possible ❤️

Just in case you didn’t know this (I didn’t until like a year ago after a few falls - side note: love that your looking in KS, that’s what my horse had and why he was throwing me) you need to replace your helmet with a new one after that fall. The helmet absorbs the impact and will fracture/crack inside instead of your skull making it less and less protective each time you fall off.

I’m an emt and I worked for the EMS company that did Churchill downs and nothing made us more scared than getting a code 3 out of the Churchill for a trainer we always knew it was bad. You could not pay me to ride a horse casually. 😅

i was at a show once and a girl’s horse flipped on her midway through the jump route. scariest shit i’ve seen, she was laying there for an hour while we waited for an ambulance to arrive because they were afraid to move her improperly. so glad you’re okay
