There’s be an uptick in people saying “Hispanic/latino isn’t a race, it’s an ethnicity!” in order to call us white and try and justify their prejudice towards us. But like.. we aren’t white?? Like I’m sorry but light skinned Latinos are just that, not white. We’re an incredibly mixed community. And while there ARE white Latinos/hispanics, that shouldn’t be used to generalize all of us into black or white categories

Especially for Hispanic who open up about racism from their OWN community because you don't "look" like ur Hispanic or you don't speak Spanish. I've faced racism from people who were Hispanic like me, many other Hispanics say I am not a real puerto rican because I don't speak Spanish or claim I am white AND Puerto Rican even though both of my parents are Puerto Rican, Only souly because I am VERY pale on top of that people from my community make me feel less connected to where I come from to where my family come from because I don't act, speak or LOOK Puerto Rican.

the fact the ancestors of Hispanic people (the Indigenous people) where inslaved right beside black people and the Hispanics we know today are a mix of many ethnic backgrounds mainly Spanish, indigenous, and African.

Everyone acts like the only ones that experienced racism was the black/african American community when all of us sadly experienced from either Spain or the USA or both- and is sad because as minorities we should be having each other’s back :(

it's been happening ever since the argument of black ppl being the a real Mayans or being the real Aztec. and I would see videos responding as nicely as possible that they are disrespecting there culture and there own place of origin. and I noticed but I didn't want to say anything because what if people thought I was racist for speaking up about how ppl are racist to my own family

I think it’s more so because black people have seen it first hand happen more towards them rather than the other way around. HOWEVER, I do agree with you. We need to call out all racism, I genuinely don’t understand why tf some people care so much about color.

I feel like if they keep being racist then racism will start to be normalized because think about it, if every human started being racist like mocking Asians, black, white + more then it will be normalized, We really need to stop, no matter who u are. We have to stop spreading it or there will be huge consequences within the humans actions

it's because people don't necessarily care when it's within their own community. black people don't care if black people are racist to them. Hispanic people don't care if Hispanic people are racist to them. to them it's only racist if it's a different race it's doing it to them and that's not right. and nobody should be using their own experience to downplay somebody else's experience. no not everyone has a life as bad as others, but just because somebody may not have experienced something as hurtful as you did that doesn't make it any less impactful. bringing up your own experience to downplay somebody else's experience is a form of hatred.
