@yassin.syrian: After a crazy Friday and Saturday, I finally made it to one of those “dangerous Sharia law parties” with our American immigrant community in Michigan 🇺🇸🇸🇾 You know, the kind of gatherings some people have been warning everyone about, as if Sharia law has already taken over America! And what did I find? A powerful woman, Assala Nasri, on stage, bringing thousands of people together through music, love, and happiness! Many women wore head coverings by their own choice, while others did not. Everyone was celebrating together. That’s what freedom of choice looks like! ❤️ And YES, there were many immigrants there! Not trying to impose anything on anyone, but celebrating their heritage and working to make both America and their countries of origin better places. Assala is more than an incredible singer. She is a symbol of our Syrian revolution. She stood against Assad’s dictatorship from the beginning. Like me, she couldn’t return to Syria for almost 14 years. Now she’s celebrating freedom with Syrians around the world! 🇸🇾❤️ Meanwhile, just a few miles away, people were celebrating Halloween in costumes, laughing and enjoying their night! THIS IS AMERICA! 🇺🇸❤️ Different cultures, different traditions, different celebrations, but the same freedom to be ourselves! And remember, WHEN THEY GO LOW, WE GO HIGH! When people try to damage your reputation and destroy the work you’ve spent years building, Attacking the heart of what make us and forget our differences make us stronger don’t let their hate change who you are. Let your actions speak louder. We don’t have to look alike, pray alike, or celebrate alike to belong in America. No fear. No hate. Just love, freedom, laughter, and happiness! ❤️🇺🇸🇸🇾
