It’s to teach them how to navigate those experiences. A child who is never allowed to struggle may never discover just how capable they are. Let them be bored. Let them think. Let them work through age-appropriate disagreements. Let them learn that hearing “NO” isn’t the end of the world. And please, teach them this: EVERY EMOTION IS VALID, BUT NOT EVERY BEHAVIOR IS ACCEPTABLE. Your child can be angry without being disrespectful. Disappointed without becoming destructive. Frustrated without taking it out on others. Emotional resilience is built through guidance, healthy boundaries, and opportunities to learn, not by dismissing feelings or rescuing children from every uncomfortable moment. Remember, you’re not raising a child who will need you to solve every problem forever. You’re raising an adult who must eventually learn to navigate life independently.
