I don’t know why it never occurred to me that Halloween wasn’t celebrated in some other countries. Is it mostly a US thing?

My mom tried to explain Halloween to our immigrant neighbors from El Salvador and she told the mom, "You get the kids dressed up and they go from house to house getting candy." When they showed up in their Easter Best it was so cute so she gifted them official Halloween costumes for the next year, a pink and red ranger. 🤭😂 They all look so freakin cute!!

Met the sweetest Chinese auntie yesterday, she said it’s her first time and she gave out delicious Chinese treats instead of candy

Amazing! My in laws did this in Tokyo and apparently their old building still has Halloween trick or treat for the kiddos over 20 years later. They have a friend who still lives there

My chinese students were so excited for real trick or treating. I love that this is spreading. We introduced it in our tiny German Village and the kids loved it.

So my best friend has lived in China since 2016. They have really been cracking down on Halloween. They aren’t even allowed to call the parties Halloween parties. They have to call it a “non-event event.” What you did is really sweet though. At the international school she teaches at in Shanghai they are able to dress up. You just have to be very careful with wording.

My newly moved in immigrant neighbor set out a little table with candy for Halloween, he looked so nervous and he was just standing there and all the kids were skipping his house😭 eventually he got trick or treaters and looked so happy, the empath in me was stressing no one would come to his house.

I remember an Asian couple who went all out for Halloween. They had candy and cupcakes and cakes pops for everybody. They didn't taste the best but I still ate it because I knew the wife was so excited to see us kids.
