Nigerian citizens are stranded in Cambodia, suffering and crying out for help. Some are struggling to survive, yet despite calling on the Nigerian authorities for more than seven months, they have received little or no response.
Meanwhile, we hear about luxury cars worth ₦120 million being purchased for political youth leaders. Just imagine how many stranded Nigerians could be helped to return home with that amount of money.
It is painful to see public resources being spent on luxury while citizens abroad are suffering and desperately seeking assistance from their own government.
What is the purpose of leadership if it cannot protect and support its own citizens in times of need?
Nigerians stranded in Cambodia are not asking for luxury. They are asking for help, safety, and the opportunity to return home alive.
Our leaders must remember that the money they spend belongs to the people. Human lives should matter more than luxury cars and political interests.
To the Nigerian government, NiDCOM, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: please hear our cries. We need urgent assistance. We want to return home safely. Please do not abandon us.
