Jenny loved Forrest but she didn’t want to keep hurting him so she ran away it’s all she knew how to do in life was run. Run forest run! She was really talking to herself in that scene. It’s so easy to paint her as the villain but she got sick and paid her dues with that sadly. It hurt him anyway her running but she didn’t know how to handle feelings or any relationship at those times. The drugs came with the trauma the men came with the trauma. Her dad was abusing her in every way, the men abused her in every way. She’s not absolved from wrongdoing but she’s paying her dues for it with her life.

The best part of that scene to me, is that he acknowledges that he is slower then most people. So that whole moive he knew he was "dumb" and still never stopped doing all the amazing things he did. it changes how you see things alitte for sure.
