I think we will still need personal injury lawyers. Ai can’t go in front of a judge and litigate a case.

automation and controls engineer here, I can't wait for robots and software ai to get good enough to take all my admin work away, I currently have maybe two weeks worth of admin work on my desk and 90% of my time is spent on the production floor repairing equipment

Is it going to alter capitalism and create a new system? I find it to be concerning in the sense of power and control.

a much more intuitive way of looking at it is, you and 9 colleagues versus 1 human + ai

You don’t think governments will intervene when they see massive drops in gdp and tax amounts? First world countries are on top because of the fact that we have these high paying and intelligent job roles vs factory or blue collar jobs like other countries

graphic design people are NOT cooked in the slightest, visual output of graphic design images has been incredibly stagnant for a while. It is sufficient for people who need an image and are lazy/don’t value visual appeal at all, but whoever is serious about wanting a quality product would have to resort to a human designer, AI is nowhere near replacing a human when it comes to images and videos yet

If Ai reaches a point where we can be self sustainable by using it, what will that mean for wealth inequality, lifestyle, firms who sell products (could Ai support lower income countries and communities w necessities (assuming there is enough resources) and firms who sell premium products are still going to be able to sell them) etc and what do u think is likely to happen in the years leading to it ?

can you promise it will take my job? if I still get money for bills I'm fine with this, most people don't have a job they love and a growing number are devoting 80%+ of income to bills with little left over for fun so even if the state income (UBI) only covers the bills then financially life won't change for low paid workers but we don't have to do 💩 work for it so it's actually a life improvement

I'm in Learning and Development, I already do the work of a team easily using AI. It hasn't eliminated my job, yet, but it has prevented new roles from being opened already. Outside of me instructing courses my role can basically be done by AI.

You still need to answer the question of why build the code to begin with. There’s really no end to that question. Code has always been a cost center, it doesn’t create money, maybe crypto is an exception but that’s more of a money moving technology.

every technology even though the power doubles or more every year, the value eventually plateaus. Look at video game graphic, polygons doubled every year but at a certain point it wasn’t noticeable. Storage, processor speed, memory, every tech, they all kinda hit a limit. AI is gonna hit that limit eventually

I am an electrician today but I've recently studied electrical engineering and today I am able to get a entry level job as a electrical design engineer. I am however hesitant to do this based on the outlook for this profession. What do you guys think I should do? Stay as an electrician or switch jobs?
