I have ADHD. 54 years old. Run my own business. Never claimed a benefit in my life. We're not all the same.

I have ADHD, autism, dyslexia and dyspraxia, and I’m a barrister. Getting where I am has been incredibly difficult, and I’ve received very little support along the way. But I persevered and got there in the end. Provide medication where appropriate, reasonable adjustments such as 25% extra time in exams, and genuine support to help people succeed. But having a diagnosis should not automatically entitle someone to disability benefits. PIP should be based on genuine functional difficulties, not simply a diagnostic label. I’ve never claimed PIP in my life. There is a difference between genuinely needing support and exploiting the system. We should absolutely protect those who need it, but we shouldn’t confuse being bone-idle with being disabled. Good grief! x

I have severe ADHD and honestly my ADHD will not benefit from a reduced train ticket. This is ridiculous. I do benefit from having someone with me and they do reduced companion tickets for this.

ADHD is completely over diagnosed. Didn’t even exist when I was growing up. People just got on with life.

None of that stuff he said is going to get better with a discount on their rail tickets.

You don't need benefits to get someone to pay for a rail ticket 🤨😑

Ridiculous, everyone has challenges of varying degrees at different points in life or indeed all of their life. It is not feasible for everyone to be given financial assistance and unless we can be giving it to all then a line has to be drawn

A lot of adults with autism and ADHD rely heavily on excuses because from young they have been told they can't do this and that because they have autism or ADHD like it's really pushed into them

This is wild. Just another example of people thinking the world owes them. I have ADHD and it's a strength not a weakness. It's not an illness, your brain just works differently.
