A Tompkinsville woman is now facing a murd3r charge after police say she sh0t a Texas Uber driver. Police arrested Phoebe Copas, 48, on June 16 after she allegedly shot Daniel J. Piedra Garcia, 52, of El Paso. He was driving her to a casino in the El Paso Mission Valley area. He was employed through the ridesharing program Uber. “At some point during the drive, Copas thought she was being taken into Mexico & sh0t Piedra,” according to a news release from Texas authorities. Police say Piedra was sh0t in the back of the head with a revolver-style pist0l. Piedra was taken to an area hospital where he remained in critical condition. He died Wednesday 14th June just before 4 p.m. Piedra’s family said he had been driving for Uber for about a month. He had started the job while recovering from knee surgery. “It’s devastating, and it has wrecked us so much,” said Didi Lopez, Piedra’s niece. “It’s something that shouldn’t have happened.” Uber has said Copas is now banned from ever using the app & is ready to assist the police with what they need. Ana Piedra, the victim’s wife, has started a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for hospital & funeral expenses. She said her husband was the primary provider for their family. The fund has a goal of $30,000 and had raised just over $25,500 as of 1 p.m. Thursday 22nd June. Doctors told his family the damage was too extensive to repair. He was taken off life support on Sunday after a 5-day hospital stay. Copas remains lodged in an El Paso jail on a $1.5 million bond. A middle school counselor in Pennsylvania allegedly gr00med a 14-year-old boy beginning in 2022 & engaged in a s3xual relationship with him through this past summer. Kelly Ann Schutte, 35, stands accused of 3 counts of institutional s3xual assault - intercourse or s3xual contact with a student, 3 counts of indecent ass*ult of a person less than 16 years old, as well as 1 count of corruption of minors. The Pennridge South Middle School counselor was arrested on Thursday. She had been on administrative leave for months prior. Word of the alleged illicit relationship first got out on July 17, when the boy called his parents asking for a ride from Schutte’s residence. The boy’s parents obliged & found him hiding behind a parked vehicle. As for an explanation, the boy allegedly said he was kissing Schutte in her home when 1 of the educator’s family members caught them & then demanded the child leave the premises. The boy’s mother then called the police & said her son was in a romantic & s3xual relationship with the Schutte. On July 19, the boy allegedly admitted to investigators of a relationship with Schutte that began during the fall semester of 2022 when the 2 sat together on a bus during a field trip. After that, the child allegedly told police the counsellor regularly called him to her office that year, sometimes causing him to miss class. Eventually, the boy allegedly said, he & Schutte engaged in s3xual activity in both Bucks & Montgomery counties. 1 such s3xual act occurred inside the counselor’s car near her home in Montgomery County on the same day the boy later called his parents. Another time, in June, when the boy’s parents & sister were out of town, Schutte allegedly engaged in a s3xual act with the boy at his home in Bucks County. Investigators allege Schutte & the child initially used the school district’s messaging app Canvas to communicate during the school year. When summer came, the counselor & the student allegedly moved their messaging to Snapchat. A search of the boy’s cellphone turned up messages between him & the counselor & pictures of the pair together at her home in Pennsburg. The messages sent on Canvas were also recovered, along with handwritten notes, that confirmed what the boy told investigators. Police also said surveillance footage shored up their case against Schutte & that she left 1 of her earrings at the boy’s home in June. The defendant was arraigned on Friday. A preliminary hearing in her case is set for Nov. 10. Schutte was released on $25,000 unsecured bail under conditions that mandate she stay away from all Pennridge School District property & have no contact with the alleged victim. #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #crimestories #crimetoks #crimetiktok #truecrimetiktoker #crime #crimejunkiestories #crimetiktokers #truecrimetok #crimetok #crimejunkie #crimejunkies #crimetiktoker
