even just from pragmatic position. giving money to ex so there is less of a disparity between enjoyment of life/experience between the homes so as to not alienate the children from their mother as a side effect

You did the right thing and I wouldn’t marry the girl friend, sorry not sorry. Plus the next person wouldn’t know I had that much money until we were getting married and signed a prenup. My kids and ex would be taking care of for life.
