As a grandparent, it’s my responsibility to do EVERYTHING in my power to make amends where needed. It’s my responsibility to show up for those grand-babies…not just once in a while, but every day. They need their village to support them every step of the way. Put your pride, ego, or anger aside. The rewards are worth the effort.

My dads parents and my moms dad couldn’t be bothered to have a relationship with me. My mom’s mom made up for them in every way. She was an amazing woman. Watching my in laws and my parents love my son and he have four amazing grandparents is healing to me.

this is so true, my mom didn't want us to be close to our dad's parents and made it uncomfortable for us to want to spend time with them. we saw through her lies as we got older and we became very close to them, loved them so much! made us all very wary of letting our kids get close to our mom in case she tried to manipulate them the same way.
