I’m starting over in Grand Rapids, in a new city, trying to rebuild a life that’s been turned upside down more times than I can explain. I’ve made choices that put me in situations I never deserved to be in, stayed in situations longer than I should have, and experienced domestic abuse and violence that changed parts of me I’m still trying to heal. I take accountability for the choices I can change, but I’m learning that taking accountability doesn’t mean blaming myself for someone else’s abuse. I’m learning, growing, and trying to break the cycles that kept bringing me back to places that hurt me. I’m a mama, a dreamer, and a girl who still has so much life left to live. I have goals, I have a heart that still wants to see the good in people, and I have so much I want to build for myself and my babies. I may not have everything figured out right now, and I may not have the support system I wish I had, but I refuse to believe this is where my story ends. 🦋 So, if you’re from Grand Rapids, looking for genuine friendships please don’t hesitate to say hi. I’m looking for good-hearted people, positive connections, and maybe even a little community in a city where I’m still learning my way around. I’m not looking for pity, and I’m not asking anyone to save me.
