My husband finished trick or treating with us and then went in to work to close his restaurant so the 20 something’s could all go party for the Saturday Halloween! Still gave them holiday pay and made sure they all ate before they went off to party like it’s 1999. He loves everyone. All men, but occasionally not.

I will never forget being SO UPSET that my dad had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day when I was a teenager....turns out he was offering to work both so those with young kids could be home like someone had done for him. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I actually just discussed this with my 22 year old son. Mentioned that if he was cut early on Halloween to atleast think about offering to let a parent to leave instead. However, I dont feel like anyone should be forced into doing it. I was proud when he texted to tell me he'd be home late!

My single, never married, no kids, uncle switched to take ALL the holiday shifts. Made my grandma MAD. He lost his battle to alcoholism. The only reason I knew why grandma was mad was his fellow officers told us at his funeral that he wanted folks to be with their families for holidays. It’s odd learning the root to the family drama as you get older.

I hate it when they say all men. Because it’s not. I have had some amazing, honest, caring and trustworthy men in my life. My grandfather, father, husband and my brother. Also men outside of my family They can always be depended on, and there to help when needed. Let’s not put men that know how to be a man and an example in the line with those that are not. Just as we lift and praise amazing women Let’s praise the men that do and encourage our young men to be better men and better fathers.

The watering down the topic of the phrase "all men" to be used in sum like this is egregious.. its not all men are bad, its all men have the capacity to harm and given the systemic support to excuse patterns of behaviors against women under the patriarchy and all men have that obligation to deconstruct the rape culture and misogyny implanted into them by society but theres lots in the world who choose to be a good person.

I am a server. only my grown kiddo was home. I was closing and violently cutting servers with kids to get home in time for part of it.(cutting is just letting servers leave due to no need) like a mission. RUN MAMA RUN ILL DO YOU SIDE WORK ILL TAKE YOU TABLE

This, as a non single mama I hope his pillow is always cool. It's been 4 years since I took my babies. Because where I work the same folks always get it off and I would get screwed on my requests. Now I am the GM, so I'm stuck there anyways. But, next year I am taking my babies. Period.

I worked every holiday before I had kids! aint no way a parent should be there if I could. id even do 12 hour shifts sometimes! now that I have babies ive been blessed to have a job that accommodates for me. I take it as my good karma for all the years I did it for others

my co-worker wasn't a dad even worked a 12 hour shift so I could have my 1st mother's day off. He just told me, Paul and I are covering. I'm here all day, he's got the night shift.

As a stepmom in blue collar. I switch shifts with my male coworkers so they can spend holidays with their kids and I miss holidays with stepkids. At least my stepkids and coworkers kids get time with their biological parents.
