Reducing > reusing > recycling sum like that

Deadpool🇦🇹 :

they always outsource the responsibility to the consumer, they want to ban normal cars but the consumer causes the smallest share of co2 emissions. They want us to recycle but they produce the plastic in the first place

For myself I've decided that if it's not an urgency, I can avoid plastic. I want drink water? I'll carry my own water bottle around for whole day instead of buying plastic bottle in the store. I want quick snack? I'll buy a fruit or pastry instead of candy in plastic wrap. I need some new clothes? I'll wear cotton, linen or other non-plastic material even if it's not as trendy and cool-looking like new stock in some Zara. I'm also trying to buy only second hand, from clothes to furniture and decor. Everything is better secondhand imo, cause it usually shows that item is durable and been loved. It's impossible completely ignore plastic ofc, but cutting it production down up to 90% should be our top-1 priority, since most of the world plastic — it's clothes, decor and packaging

Nha Nha406 :

I recycle mainly PET into usable filaments, and it's more of a energy issue, plus the oil process chain far cheaper and already built, so they just move the responsibility to us, I'm still mad, give me back my plastic straws [Tears of joy]

♰lei :

the only thing we can do is trying not to buy products with plastic, but even at supermarkets fruits, vegetables and other food products will be sold in plastic containers. In some supermarkets almost all fruits and veggies are sold in plastic containers, making us buy such products with plastic:/ And even if you wanted to go with a more organic option, you'll have to pay more which sadly isn't realistic for many ppl

Having to warn "scroll if you have a short attention span" is quite absurd considering on how simple this is and short this is aswell, less than 5 minutes of reading tbh

Same thing with the housing crisis, they blame it on the immigrants instead of the ones in power

you know that recycling is probably just a fraud created to push the responsibility for climate change from big companies (the real cause of it) onto individuals?
