@that_one_arm_ot: Reviewing a one-handed ponytail 3D-printed device! I’m checking out this ring 3D print that was submitted to the MakerWorld Accessibility Contest under the “One-Handed Ponytail” category. [VD: A young woman with shoulder-length brown/red hair missing her left arm wears a plaid shirt. She stands in a green bathroom and demonstrates a small green 3D-printed ring designed for one-handed use. The ring has a raised lip that helps keep the hair tie from sliding backward on her hand when she puts it on.] #OneArm #DisabilityTok #AdaptiveLiving #AssistiveTechnology #3dprinting
And with short hair? Girl that’s difficult already, you’re amazing and wonderful invention

I think any new mom needs all these attachments too because I had to do so much one handed with a baby in the other arm..... Make up.. cooking.... in the old days even holding a phone! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Was becoming an OT while disabled yourself a big challenge compared to your able bodied peers? I’m really leaning towards going to school for it but I have a disability that affects my mobility and strength and I’m concerned it’ll be a problem. I can’t lift more than like 20 lbs so I wouldn’t be able to transfer patients etc, is that something that would bar someone from being a successful OT?

When I was in middle school I have fairly long hair and broke my finger so I was only able to use one hand to do my hair. This would have been so nice to pull my hair out of my face!!

Something but it has to be long enough to hold the hair in your neck and have enough mobility in your hands? I hope they keep inventing

You're great at that. When I broke my shoulder I would have and anything to get my hair pulled back! The only way I could figure out how to do anything like that at the time was to get a buff, which is a tube of fabric, bite it on one side, pull it over my head on the other side and then pull it up, sort of like a headband, and then stuff the hair into it from the top. It was not publicly presentable, but it was a big help in the Kansas summer at home.

I would try that and try the goodie hairbands with the bead on them, feels like it would keep it taught
