@the_30_rule: Eighty percent of your problems are not a resource problem. They are a psychology problem. Here is the split. Eighty percent psychological. Twenty percent execution. Psychological means you need to be resourceful. Execution means you actually need resources. Now listen to how your week sounds. I need more labor. I need more people. I need more time. I need better tools. I cannot do that until we hire someone. Every one of those is a resource request. And resource problems are only twenty percent of what is actually in front of you. Most operators have it flipped. They think eighty percent of the problem is that they are short on things, and twenty percent is mindset. It is the other way around, and that inversion is expensive. I do not want my leadership team walking into my office asking for more resources so they can execute the job I already asked them to execute. I want them resourceful. Get it done with what is in the building today. That is the art of leadership. This is not a speech about doing more with less forever. Sometimes you genuinely need another body. That is the twenty percent, and it is real. But if you solve the twenty first, you will spend money to fix something a conversation would have fixed. Strong restaurant leadership can tell those two apart in about a minute. Your managers can learn it, but only if somebody teaches them the difference on purpose. That is what restaurant training systems are for. Not scripts. Decision making, practiced until it is a reflex. Real hospitality training works the same way. It builds people who solve instead of people who escalate. Do that and accountability gets easier, because nobody is hiding behind a shortage that was never the problem. It changes the room too. A restaurant culture of resourceful people is a calmer building than one full of people waiting on permission. Your guest experience stops waiting on a hire that may not come. And turnover drops, because capable people leave rooms where nothing can be solved. Resources are what you are given. Resourceful is what you are. #restaurantowner #hospitalitytraining #restaurantleadership #restaurantculture
