@thesameerproject: The joy on these children’s faces as they receive their new school bags shows just how eager they are to learn and be back in a classroom. For the past three years, schools in Gaza have meant shelters and displacement, while children have been deprived of reading, writing, and learning together. This year, our Hassan School has expanded to nearly 1,000 students. Thanks to our partners at Small Steps Project, we are helping children get the supplies they need to begin again. On Tuesday, September 29, 130 children receiving complete school supplies at Refaat Alareer Camp in Al-Zawaida. Each parcel contained one school bag, five notebooks, one eraser, one sharpener, one ruler, two pencils, and two ballpoint pens. Each parcel cost about $22, bringing the total to $2,791 after commission fees of 11%. After everything these children have had taken from them, they deserve the excitement of a new school bag, a classroom to return to, and a future to look forward to. Help us keep that future within reach. Donate to our Refaat Alareer Camp link, or if you’re in the UK our JustGiving link for these school supplies.
