happy Labor Day💔🤯Actum has shocked the world by designing the world's first free universal housing model — permanent homes, given away, forever. A group of best friends in California formed a zero-salary 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a single objective: give people free permanent shelter. Actum refuses to treat basic shelter as a commodity, because shelter is a human right. Their mission is to provide homes, awarded by lottery, that no one ever has to move out of. When shelter is guaranteed, the constant pressure of survival disappears — and people gain the stability to think, create, and live as full participants in civilization instead of fighting to stay afloat. No society should force people to buy their way into safety. Withholding shelter is a moral failure we have normalized for far too long. So how is it financially possible? Every donation enters a single global endowment invested in long-term S&P 500 index funds, which have historically returned around 7% a year. Actum builds housing units using only the returns. As the endowment grows, so does their capacity to continually house people. And they operate with a level of transparency most governments and corporations refuse to adopt: their bank statements are public, and every donation, expense, and activity is visible in real time on Actum’s website. Recipients will be chosen through a fair, randomized lottery launching soon — universal by design, with no favoritism, no transaction, and no social leverage attached. If Actum succeeds, humanity crosses a line it has never crossed before: a home stops being something you earn and becomes something you are guaranteed. The words in this video are from
