Y’ALL… THIS IS HEARTBREAKING. Earlier, I shared the terrifying dashcam footage showing a private jet plunging almost vertically from the sky. Then I shared the burning crater it left behind. BUT NOW WE’RE HEARING WHAT WAS HAPPENING INSIDE THE COCKPIT. And it is devastating. On Sunday, November 1, a Learjet 60 carrying nine people was traveling from Austin, Texas, toward the Bahamas. Before the crash, the crew reported icing and turbulence. Then something went terribly wrong. The aircraft began descending at an extraordinary rate. The pilots declared an emergency. MAYDAY. MAYDAY. And as they struggled with the aircraft, the pilot warned air traffic control that they were going to crash. Flight-tracking data indicates the jet lost approximately 27,000 FEET OF ALTITUDE IN ONE MINUTE. SECONDS LATER… The aircraft crashed into a Florida neighborhood and erupted into a massive fireball. 💔 ALL NINE PEOPLE ON BOARD WERE KILLED. I cannot imagine what those final moments must have been like for the people aboard. Or what their families are experiencing now. And while the recordings describe icing, turbulence, and a terrifying loss of altitude, investigators have NOT determined what caused this tragedy. The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
