it's almost like you should have coverage for lunch breaks with an additional person you don't have to close down and there is no daily bottleneck in filling prescriptions removing the busiest hour of the day. we only have so many hours in the day to pick up while the pharmacy is open taking 30 min of that time seems like the wrong play from the industry when a part time pharmacist could bridge that gap with ease.

I used to work the customer service desk at a popular grocery store. The amount of people that would ask my why the pharmacy was closed at 2pm… I just would tell them “sorry, the pharmacist has to eat too…”

IDK...I am happy to wait for my pharmacist to take time to be well rested and fed so they dont accidentally give me the wrong meds. Why is that hard to understand?

We have an electronic bell to alert us when someone is waiting and the amount of people who keep ringing it while the window is closed and the gate is down is ridiculous. We have signs that we are closed for lunch. Continuously ringing the bell is not going to make us open the window. We just turn off the bell.

I often end up waiting with my youngest who is 13 and he'll inevitably ask how long we have to wait and I always say it's just couple minutes and we can be patient. But I have a habit of speaking a little too loudly about how nice it is that the pharmacy staff all gets a break now at the same time and how before this CVS location started doing it, it was so chaotic for them (and customers) and they often didn't get breaks at all 😁😆 You should see how other people in line adjust their bodies when I say it because you can tell the ones that were getting annoyed heard me 🤣 "I didn't realize our timing was a little off for their hours, next time WE can remember to double check our timing to plan our errands better. But waiting a couple minutes isn't going to mess up our entire day, we're cool."

as a Healthcare worker I try to know the pharmacy hours in my area so I can tell patients if they're closed for lunch/just opened/ closing soon so hopefully they give yall time. they probably dont but solidarity i guess.

I have had patients very frequently call my store to ask for profile transfers but only on the condition that we did not close for lunch 🙄

Married a pharmacist and the things said to him daily would make a normal person go postal. Sworn at daily, threated a dozen times oven following the law on refills. He still listens to me vent about work somehow. I wouldn’t make it in pharmacy because someone gets a little snippy with me sometimes at work and I give it right back

It's slightly comparable to having to leave a conveyor belt on at work while you go to lunch.. (Upon returning; the first task at hand is to quickly, yet correctly sort the pile up that built while you were gone, and handling multiple alarms before returning to regular speed.)
