Who needs a man when all I have experienced is disloyalty, unfaithfulness, and betrayal? I refuse to be a man’s nurse, caretaker, or personal ATM. My ex-boyfriend wanted to marry me, and I believe his intentions were driven by the desire to obtain a green card and potentially qualify for Social Security spousal benefits. I want a genuine partner who loves me for who I am, not for what I can provide. I have worked too hard and sacrificed too much to spend the rest of my life supporting a man who does not offer me the same love, loyalty, and commitment in return. I would rather stand alone in peace than be used in a relationship.
