Therapist here 🙋🏾♀️. Some people take on the trauma and continue it, while others go to the extreme of living a completely different life. That’s why we have generations of specific downfalls while and still seeing a few sprinkles of folks that breaks the cycle. I but I 100% agree we have choices here in that matter.

This is the only time I will ever say there genuinely are two types of people in the world: one group of people will say “that happened to me. I know what it feels like and nobody should ever feel that way.” and other people who go “that happened to me and nobody helped me so why should I help them?” (because it wasn’t fair that that happened to you and that should never happen to anybody so why would you repeat it?
