The problem is Mc Donalds is franchised so the fees to own are high. It's a struggle for the owners already and then the minimum wage hike. In and Out Burger is not franchised so it's easier to pay the higher wage cause there's no middle man.

The minimum wage is higher in other countries with no operating expense problems. Maybe the problem is with US executive pay?
