We moved in last year and ran out of candy by 8:30, so many children and all the houses on the street lit up. I have 4 bags of candy left over….I saw maybe 20 kids. I put away the Halloween decor and took down the Christmas boxes today. I love thanksgiving but I also need some joy.

$25 for a bag of candy at Walmart is expensive. This makes me so sad that people are not able to afford simple things like passing out candy because $100 bucks for candy is a bag of groceries. [Teary eyed]

I’ve lived in my house 28 years, we had the complete opposite. There were so many kids in our neighborhood. Both neighbors to each side of me said the same exact thing they were shocked.

Now, if everyone decided today while everything is on clearance that trick-or-treat would be next weekend and not tell the company selling us the candy. I think we could get away with having a holiday a week later and it being half the cost than normal.

so many houses weren't participating but there was a ton of people out so we ran out by 8pm. I had 3 huge bags from costco plus 60 king size... I felt bad being out by 8pm

yep...my light was off and I couldn't afford to buy the candy. I used to be able to afford to go larger grocery trips that would last me a few weeks. Now my cupboards are bare because I can only afford to get enough food for the week.
