UPDATE: HCSO RELEASES DETAILS IN FATAL CRASH ON NORTH GESSNER DRIVE The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has released additional details following a fatal crash Tuesday morning on North Gessner Drive near Heron Nest Drive, in front of the Heron Lakes Estates community. According to Deputy Balthazar with the HCSO Vehicle Crimes Division, the crash occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m. in the 11200 block of Gessner Road. Investigators say a white Chevrolet Bolt was stopped in the intersection between the northbound and southbound lanes, waiting to enter the neighborhood on the east side of the roadway. As the Chevrolet Bolt attempted to enter the northbound lanes, it was struck by a black BMW traveling northbound in the right lane. The driver of the Chevrolet Bolt was a 67-year-old woman who was wearing her seatbelt. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS. The BMW was driven by a 24-year-old man who was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators report: * No suspicion of intoxication involving the BMW driver. * Speed is not currently believed to be a contributing factor. * An autopsy will be performed on the deceased driver. Results are not yet available. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
