@konah619: George Clooney believes Trumpism will fade once Donald Trump leaves the political spotlight, arguing that the MAGA movement is built so heavily around Trump’s celebrity status that it cannot survive without him. Speaking from the set of his Broadway production Good Night, and Good Luck, which explores the McCarthy era, the longtime Democrat predicted that the Republican coalition surrounding Trump would eventually unravel without its central figure. Asked whether MAGA could continue beyond Trump, Clooney pointed to the president’s celebrity appeal rather than any lasting political ideology: “He’s a celebrity… He’s got a star on Hollywood Boulevard.” Clooney argued that Republicans have no obvious successor capable of reproducing Trump’s unique connection with his supporters. Drawing parallels between Trump and controversial figures throughout American history, Clooney suggested that movements centered on powerful personalities tend to disappear when their leaders are gone. “From President Jackson to McCarthy to this… the authoritarian, the demagogue, it goes away when they go away. And he will go away.”
