@konah619: What if the fastest growing plant on Earth could fuel your next trip? 🎋 Researchers at Worcester Polytechnic Institute say bamboo can be turned into fuel for cars, trains, and planes. Their study in Sustainable Energy and Fuels models a cost as low as 2.75 dollars per gasoline gallon equivalent. The fuel showed 26 times lower greenhouse gas emissions than conventional diesel. Bamboo could match US corn ethanol output using only about 13 percent of the land. 🌍 Michael Timko says it may help decarbonize sectors that are hard to electrify. This is still a model and not a pump price yet. Big change often starts as a quiet seed. 🌱 📌 Sources: Worcester Polytechnic Institute news release,Sustainable Energy & Fuels, Anthropocene Magazine, anthropocenemagazine.org
