@kristenzisek: My favorite makeup bags, and the some of the things I really check before picking one 💄 1 Is it an SIPC member? That’s the seal you want to see. 2 Does it charge trading fees? Most of the big names don’t anymore. Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab, Robinhood… honestly, any reputable SIPC member is fine. Pick the one whose website and app you actually like using, because that’s the one you’ll keep showing up to. Everyone told me to start saving for retirement when I was young. So I did. I met with a financial advisor (I think) and he had me open a Schwab account. I put my money in the account but that’s it. It just stayed in there like a checking account instead of, what I now know as, being put into the stock market to grow. So what do I need to do to actually grow my money for retirement? I don’t want to be the one to handle the stock market trades. Do I need to hire someone for that? How does it actually work?
