I think Buck struggles with setting boundaries with Theo because of his own childhood. He knows what it feels like to be rejected by his own parents, and I’m not sure he understands that setting boundaries doesn’t mean rejecting someone. Maybe, to him, setting boundaries feels like rejection. And if there’s one thing Buck never wants Theo to feel, it’s unwanted or unloved.
