Ok this also but Star Wars. Was recently in Disney, in Hollywood studios, and was talking to a guy in a line about Star Wars and how I’m usually in full Star Wars gear if we go to galaxy’s edge but I just got back from a big Star Wars con and I needed to not wear a bunch of layers and impractical shoes because I was so tired. And he was like, oh yeah I have a huge Star Wars collection, it’s a whole bookcase of Lego’s and lightsabers and stuff, and starts bragging about how he is such a huge nerd about it and explaining all this stuff, and then is like “oh but I don’t know if you know all that” and I slowly raise up my shirt sleeve to reveal my Star Wars arm sleeve tattoo, and then show him my lock screen on my phone, which is a professional photo shoot of me wearing all my Star Wars gear, with a custom hair piece designed and made by the hair stylist for the Mandalorian show, a custom lightsaber, and I’m on the galactic Starcruiser (the immersive hotel that has since closed). And he’s like “oh, OH, never mind”

what i found as a teenage girl who liked video games is, if I wanted to play "male dominated" games I'd have to deal with men heckling me for being a girl and actively targeting me while doing it. the first dnd group I joined had a similar issue (i have since found better dnd groups)
