A pastor is going viral after a clip showed him asking members of his congregation to bring copies of their tax returns so he can review them and ensure they are tithing properly. In the 15-second video, shared on X by @mymixtapez on March 10, the pastor tells the church he plans to stop people from “playing in my face during tithes and offerings.” The clip has since gained more than 810,000 views, sparking widespread backlash online. Many users criticized the request as invasive and compared it to cult-like behavior, while others joked that comedian Druski’s viral church skits are starting to look more like reality. Critics argue that demanding private financial documents shifts the focus from spiritual guidance to money, raising concerns about churches operating more like businesses than places of worship.#fyp #viral
A 16-year-old North Carolina girl and a 28-year-old man are facing first-degree murder charges after the teen’s parents and grandmother were discovered shot to death inside their family home, authorities said. Deputies with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office found Travis Grant, 41, Kimberly Grant, 42, and Sharon Grant, 66, dead from gunshot wounds during a welfare check at their Fairview home on May 7. Investigators believe the victims may have been dead for several days before they were discovered. The couple’s daughter, Star Grant, was missing from the residence when deputies arrived. Authorities later tracked her to a hotel in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where she was found alongside 28-year-old Devan Loving. According to investigators, the pair were taken into custody after police spotted a vehicle connected to the teen outside the hotel. Both suspects are now charged with three counts of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Despite being 16, Star is being charged as an adult. Officials said detectives traveled to Tennessee to question the suspects, and information gathered during those interviews led to the charges. A motive has not yet been released. Family members told local media that Star had allegedly been communicating secretly with an older man who reportedly provided her with a burner phone. Court records cited by local outlets show Travis Grant previously attempted to seek a restraining order connected to the situation, though investigators have not confirmed whether Loving was involved. Authorities also revealed that welfare checks had been requested multiple times before deputies ultimately entered the home on the third visit. Investigators said there was not enough evidence during the earlier calls to legally force entry. Star Grant remains held in juvenile detention in Tennessee, while Loving is being housed at the Sevier County Jail pending extradition back to North Carolina.#fyp #viral
