It was 1982. I was right at the river at stone by the road horse track and what’s the apartments across the street go to the river

My dad waited for me to get off work, as soon as I walked in the door he said we had to go see the river, and rushed me out the door. Just as we got to that bridge we watched 2 buildings fall in the river. It was horrible and astonishing at the same time.

There were more recent floods that were much worse. I was in high school when the Santa Cruz almost took out its bridges.
