Someone fucked up, should have pulled the army regulations for prior service. When I transferred from the Corps to the Army I didn’t have to go to army basic. I will say this though, changing services is a bit of a challenge. They 100% need a prior service course so you can learn all the army stuff when changing branches. I got sent to a board like a month in and they were trying to quiz me on army info, I had no clue and had like a day of prep.

I switched from Navy to Army. I already knew i was going to have to go through basic. However what really got me was that I was wearing and being paid as a SSG , living in the bays with the privates. The DS were all really cool one on one, but boy was i going crazy.

We had some prior service in 2021 at fort Benning. They treated priors 10x better during OSUT than reg boots

Yeah, I can see that happening. Still weird because if you go through Marine Corps Boot Camp, you go straight into the school house of the job you picked for the service that you join.

When I was in boot camp in the navy, we had 2 people that were prior one was air force.One was army, both of them had to go through boot camp.And this is the navy. we only had to run a mile and a 1/2

I remember I considered joining the Army years after I got out the Marines but I didn’t want to do Bootcamp again 😂. I don’t have any patience for that shit.

I remember being in reception and there was a kid named jager who did basic went home and then came back for ait. They said “we can’t find your file you’re going to have to do basic again”. The kid did not care even a little bit meanwhile I was scared to death
